Mobile Engagement Photographer │ Taren & Brian
Engagement sessions:
the perfect way to really get to know your photographer and their shooting style. You’ll also find that if you’re not used to being photographed, it can be a little daunting to enter into something you’re unsure of (ie. being photographed). ‘Will the photographer direct me? Where do I put my hands? What if I do it wrong? This is gonna be weird.’ Engagement sessions allow you to throw any and all of those expectations out the window. During I’d say, 100% of my sessions, the couple realizes how much they’ve relaxed and dare I say, are even having FUN being photographed! (Yup, I’m talking about you men especially.) This is extremely helpful when you are scheduled to be photographed for 8 - 10 hours on wedding day.
Furthermore, engagement sessions are also a great way for your photographer to get to know YOU! Watching the way a couple interacts together is extremely useful to strengthen our approach for portraits on wedding day.
Lastly, you (the couple) can also use the images from the session for save-the-dates, prints at the wedding and reception, to fill the walls in your newlywed home, or even your guest book! In all, engagement sessions are a win-win-win…win!
Taren and Brian’s Session
I met Taren and Brian on Dauphin Street in Downtown Mobile for their engagement session. The view of the lone majestic RSA tower accompanied with the wall covered in vines and beautiful light downtown streets was the perfect backdrop for this duo. Additionally, Taren and Brian will be getting married at the Azalea Manor on Dauphin Street as well! Jesse and I cannot wait to grab some of these shots during nightfall! After about 30 minutes of shooting (and my confession of how I hit and killed a MALLARD DUCK on the way to this session down a 55mph country road. Y’all. ? ? ? Y’ALL!!), we headed to our second location pick, the green and gorgeous Washington Square.
As we drove into the square, I noticed those pesky (but still beautiful) clouds weren’t doing anything to let any light into the square. So, I quickly put together my trusty off-camera umbrella flash. It always saves the day! As soon as we wrapped up our hour and were walking back to the car, we noticed the sunlight finally peeking in through the trees. We could not miss the opportunity for a few more photos! I don’t know about you, but I just love the silhouette shot at the end and am so glad the opportunity presented itself. 🙂
Congratulations to Taren and Brian! I know this wedding is going to be beautiful and I am SO excited you have entrusted this glorious day with us!!!
