REAL WEDDING │ Courtney and Nate │ June 11, 2022

Courtney and Nate (who are currently residing in Texas) chose the beautiful Gulf Shores, AL as a central meeting location for their friends and family to meet to celebrate their wedding day! Hearing their loved ones toast to them was a highlight of the evening, and as for me, I hid behind my camera as I tried and failed to resist the tears streaming down my face watching Nate and his mom dance during the reception. It’s only a matter of time before I’m that mom on the dance floor holding my grown son and wishing I could go back to this time and place I’m living now. *Gulping back tears* Ahem!! Anyway!

Congrats Courtney & Nate!!! What a beautiful wedding day for a beautiful couple!!

Venue: Craft Farms, Gulf Shores, AL

For Photographers: 9 Things I will Not Shoot a Wedding Without

If you’re just starting out or looking to evolve or grow your photography business, you’re probably scared of weddings. And rightfully so, they are daunting, long, and you have to know what you’re doing - not just look like you do. Because you are shooting for an entire day, you MUST have the right equipment, and enough of it! I hear photographers say, “You either love them or you hate them. You’re either a wedding photographer or you’re not.” But I like to be that positive voice and say that eventually you WILL get to a point where you love weddings. I truthfully never thought that day would come for myself but here I am writing this blog. Yes, they’re long. Yes, they are sometimes stressful. Yes, I come home feeling like I was hit by a bus and even have “wedding day hangovers” where I wake up still sore and tired. Epsom salt baths and ibuprofen are your friends. But weddings are everything. You get to live someone’s most exciting, best day ever, every single weekend. I laugh, I cry tears of happiness, I get to see families love and support each other, but the best part is, I get to take pictures while doing it. You can’t NOT love it once you are prepared! So with that, here is a list of my wedding day must-haves.

REAL WEDDING │ Shelly & Ryan │ June 4, 2022

One discussion that came up many times during this wedding was how rain on your wedding day is supposed to mean good luck. I can definitely say these two are going to have one lucky marriage! I was so excited that this couple chose to do a first look together before the ceremony to knock out all the formals before the ceremony began (notice how precious the groom is when he sees his beautiful bride. I live for those moments <3) Though we did get extremely wet during a torrential downpour during portraits of the two of them, I’m sure it will be a story for their grandchildren. 🙂 We all cleaned up and Shelly looked gorgeous walking down the aisle!!
